About

I’m an Australian writer and academic. You can reach me here, if you like. I’m represented by Lit Entertainment.

I’m currently a PhD candidate at Swinburne University, writing an interdisciplinary thesis on superhero stories, and a screenwriter with a number of projects in development in the US. My first feature was the independent arthouse drama EXIT.

My short stories have appeared in Meanjin, Overland, Westerly, Trunk Books’ Blood anthology, and often in Ahoy Comics. I have a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne.

My essays can be found in Animation, Meanjin, Refractory, Overland, Metro, as well as The Contemporary Comic Book Superhero and Crossing Boundaries in Graphic Narrative anthologies.

I was a film critic for outlets such as Time Out and Triple J Magazine before turning my attention to screenwriting. I was the literary site Bookslut’s comic book commentator, and have written for The Comics Journal. I’ve also been a cultural critic for the Australian Ballet and a comedy writer on the TV show Rove Live.
