Melbourne and other myths Museum exhibition

Museum exhibition

Presented by The Museum at Old Treasury | March – May 2008

Bear witness to the lives of three Melbourne eccentrics as they explain their unique visions of the city. Through the stories of these odd characters, illustrated with sounds, images and curious artefacts, the exhibition explores Melbourne’s urban myths and impossible secrets. Other surprises – some fact, some fiction – will leave visitors seeing familiar landmarks in peculiar new ways.

An article in The Age said I was “some sort of historian, possibly a magician, within the curious fiction he has been writing.” Melbourne and Other Myths was based on three “found stories”, written by me and designed by Chase and Galley. You can download them below:

The exhibition was curated by Simon Gregg. It featured photography by Justin Ridler, Saskia Pandji Sakti, and Tamara Watt; and animation by Jackie Felstead, Lorraine Heller-Nicholas, and Simon O’Carrigan.
